Just another example of how the “Agile Revolution” doesn’t work if the people involved are not considered and the whole management focus is on the tech and roi. They’ll just take the piss out of the newspeak as any initial energy drains from the project.
My main client is a 60-million euro turnover pharma company for whom I run a training project involving the whole sales team and most of the office top brass. Last week one lady rang me up first thing in the morning and told me she wanted to change workgroups for timetabling reasons. She said she had everything covered so I said OK get on with it. By next morning, all hell had broken loose because the workgroup told her they didn’t want a new member. Took me all day to sort it out. Lesson learnt - always do the extra communicating ANY change and getting all parties onside. Talk is not enough - only full acceptance and engagement will do.

I used to work in warehouses and on building sites where when nature called we "went for a slash" .
When i moved into head office I heard people say they was going for a "comfort break" so I thought I would have one of them and sat down in the canteen with a coffee and the Daily Mirror only to be told to get back to work.

Yes irritating stuff.
To avoid boredom at Partner meetings we use to try guess the American type phrases they would come out with in advance, e.g. "low hanging fruit"
For two years of covid every email would start:
"Dear XXX, I hope you are keeping well in these unusual times" Began to sound a bit hollow after about a month.

Agree with that. I’m in sales, one of the few jobs that uneducated nob heads like myself can earn a decent living without running our own company.
Completely agree that sales in particular is a knob head job.
